hey everyone! next tournament, try to save your great shots (holes-in-one, very long drives, bizarre shots, very close approaches, etc.) and mail them in with your round! i will put them in a folder like this, give them all a number, and they can be viewed when they are each mentioned by number in the "article" for the tournament which will begin appearing next week. this article will mentioned highlights of the tournament, turning points, unusual and interesting stats, etc. So, help me out by saving your replays! (save them to the desktop, which will make it easy to find them when you're hurrying to mail in your round, and be sure to include your screen name in the shot file name, and briefly explain the shot in the email message).
in the included spreadsheets, the text file has all the same info as the others, but use one of the others if you can, because of shading and/or outlines that highlight the best stats cells.
some of you sent in your saved SCORECARD instead of your saved STATS screen. be careful about this next time.

when the real season starts, things have to be right, or DQs will happen. (it takes time to sit through your round and save a stats file for it! if you finish your round and forget to save the stats file, you might still have time left in your hour to watch it and get the stats file before you upload.)
finish strong even if you start out rough! some folks played two rounds, but didn't play a third after they figured they didn't stand a chance. still mail them in! you might earn points toward "Golfer of the Month" or something, which might earn you a prize such as an Access gift certificate. (3 awarded monthly, $20, $15, and $10) other possibilities for prizes at the end of the season may be for most aces, most double eagles, longest drive of the season, etc. You never know!
be sure to follow the criteria for naming your rec rounds and stats files! it makes life much easier on this end. no spaces are necessary anywhere in the file names, (nor are they necessary in your aol screen name, in case you didn't know) and i don't mind if you don't capitalize correctly. i prefer all lowercase usually, anyway. it's very important that your screen name is included in each file name for obvious reasons, and it's also important that the week# and rd# are there, because duplicate file names are a nightmare, again for obvious reasons. don't leave the course name in the file name.
check those folders in the Simulation Golf area for leaderboards, hole-in-one honors, tournament schedule, etc. (soon)
expect a fully laid out, regularly uploaded Mac ALPT Newsletter once the season starts! It's going to be pretty cool. tons of stats and graphs, commentary and analysis, tips, easter eggs, reports of good scenery spots on the links (anyone find the "Beware of Snakes" sign at Bighorn yet? i hear there's one somewhere...), course records, player progress reports, player photos if people are interested, and other fun stuff.
attend the meetings! they are every Wednesday night at 8pm, in the 19th hole.

Prizes will be randomly awarded at these meetings come regular season, and rules/policy decisions may be decided there, so consider attending!
